Description: Postcard of Texan houses built before the American Civil War. The postcard features four photographs of two one-story houses and two two-story houses, arranged in a grid on the front of the postcard with the caption "Early Texas Houses. Built Before Civil War." The bottom two photographs are of cabin style houses - one made from wood and the other from stones and wood. The photograph in the top left corner has a wooden staircase on the left side of the house, leading up to a doorway on the second story, and a covered garage with a gate on the front of the house. [Description of Treue Der Union Civil War Monument]

Description: Typewritten description of the Treue der Union monument in Comfort, Texas, for the Kendall County Historical Marker sign. The description includes a brief history behind the monument, and the German Union soldiers who honored their fallen comrades by burying them at the site.
