Railroad Gate.

Description: Patent for a new and improved railroad gate. This design "has relation to railroad-gates of the class that is designed to be erected at the lines of fences for the purpose of preventing cattle and stock from passing from one field to another, and further designed to be opened by the wheels of a passing train, and automatically closed after the train has passed; and the invention consists in the construction and novel combination of parts" (lines 20-28).

Sulky Plow.

Description: Patent for a new and improved sulky plow. This design "consists in a sulky-plow constructed with the sliding block carrying the adjustable wheel locked in place by a sliding spring-pressed bolt and withdrawn by means of an elbow-lever. The sliding wheel-carrying block is provided with rack-teeth engaging with the teeth of a double-gear wheel placed loosely upon the journal of the plow-crank, and connected with the plow-crank lever by a pawl, whereby the machine can be leveled and the plow adjusted by means of the same lever (lines 20-31).

Heel Brace.

Description: Patent for a new and improved heel-brace. This design "consist[s] in a semi-circular rim provided with two downward side extensions, the lower ends of said extensions being provided with inwardly extending lugs adapted to lie under the heel of a boot or shoe, said rim being also provided on its rear side with a downwardly-extending projection shorter than the side extensions, the lower ends of the extensions being provided with openings for the reception of screws" (lines 63-73).

Description: Patent for a new and improved prop for carriage tops. This design consists in "a prop-joint for vehicles, the combination of the bow, the prop-casting having the circumferential flanges lying against the opposite sides of the bow, and the opposite extension plates lying against and secured by screws to the rear edges of the bow" (lines 70-75).
