Description: Postcard of several U.S. Army cavalry members riding dark-colored horses next to a low, wooden fence; several of the horses are jumping over the fence. Bridle and Bit.

Description: Patent for improvements to Bridles and Bits, specifically what are known as stranglers, used to easily gain control over an animal by exerting pressure on its nose, operated by a slight pull on the auxiliary reins. This patent also provides for a device which activates the strangler when the driver releases it and the animal steps on it.

Starting to clear away the ruins

Description: Photograph of a wagon pulled by a team of four horses, on the site of the West Texas State Normal College building. The wagon is loaded with debris left when the building was destroyed by fire in March 1914. A man driving the team is seated in the wagon, another man stands by the team, and a third man stands to one side. The damaged walls of the building are visible and the ground is strewn with rubble.
