Insect-Exterminator

Description: Patent for an insect exterminator to be transported to and used within crop fields which separates insects from plants by means of brushes and kills the insects by depositing them into a pan containing liquid insecticide. Exterminator also includes a sprayer to deliver insecticide onto crops. Exterminator is designed to be pulled by draft animals.

Description: Patent for an insect destroyer consisting of a steam-generator used with "removable drawers forming the fire-box and ash-pan of the generator, a safety-valve connected with the steam-boiler, and a novel form and construction of flexible discharge-tube, the same being provided with a cut-off device and with a socket-piece adapted to receive a handle by means of which the discharge end of the flexible tube may be elevated and conducted to any desired point" (lines 12-21).

Description: Patent for a portable fumigator for insects that uses poison laden steam and has a simple, compact, and inexpensive construction. It has a "tubular casing having a liquid-containing tank located within the same, and also having a tampering heating chamber and smoke flue, of a steam pipe located within said tapering chamber and a suitable spirit lamp" (lines 16-20).

Insect-Trap.

Description: Patent for a trap for bedbugs made of pine wood with many nooks and crannies and springs attached to either side of the wooden block. It can be put on the bed frame and bedbugs hide in its dark recesses during the day, and then the trap can either be hit to close the springs and crush the bugs or put into hot water to drown them.
