El Fenix Cafe

Description: The El Fenix Cafe menu contains the names and prices of their dishes, desserts, and beverages. The restaurant offered cocktails and relishes, salads, sandwiches, eggs and omelettes, soups, chicken and steak dinners, nonalcoholic beverages, wines, beer, fish, and a variety of Mexican dishes. The Special Mexican Dinner cost $1.25 at the time of this menu. A poem by James J. Metcalfe is written on the back of the menu.

Crazy Hotel: Formal Opening Menu

Description: This photograph shows a SOUVENIR MENU on the occasion of the formal opening of the Crazy Hotel on March 11, 1927. The hotel, now [2008] a retirement hotel, is still located on the corner of N. Oak Avenue and NW 3rd Street, Mineral Wells, Texas. It was closed as a retirement hotel, under a considerable cloud, in 2010.

Kyra Papillon won sponsorship from the Oakland Bay Area Links to attend a forum for non-governmental organizations in Nairobi, Kenya. Anniversary Club Annual Banquet in 1905

Description: In 1905, the Anniversary Club held their annual banquet, which was attended by prominent Beeville business men and their wives. Their names are listed at the bottom of the picture, along with a copy of the membership of the club, and the menu for the banquet. In the 1890’s and early 1900’s the Anniversary Club, a men’s club, met once a month and held birthday dinners which were served at the Nations Hotel. From its beginning clubs and organizations played an important part in the progress of the citizens of Bee County, both culturally and civically.

Description: The Ju-cy Pig Stand menu contains a list, description, and prices for the items available for purchase. The menu includes special plates, Suzi-Q specials, soups, salads, steaks, fountain specials, and sandwiches. The obverse of the menu contains an illustration of the Ju-cy Pig logo and an illustration of the establishment. The menu's reverse includes a brief history of the restaurant under the ownership of J. C. Burch and a description of remodeling that had taken place during 1933 to 1941.
