A handwritten note on the back of the postcard is addressed to Mr. J. T. Walker in Alvord, Texas (Quarles Lumber Co.) and reads: "Hello Mr. Walker, how do you like the looks of papa's new lumber yard? The man that works for papa is not in the picture. Orval."
