According to the "1996 George Ranch Historical Park Interpreter Training Manual" the oak tree was planted in 1824 by Nancy Jones and is in the George Ranch house yard (seen at bottom of photograph). A utility pole with multiple lines extending left, right, and center, of photo is in the center, right of photograph. The yard below has partial view of people in bottom right corner, chairs formed from tree trunks also near right, picnic tables to left and white building on far left. Written on back of photograph in black: "negative # 369A". Stamped on back in blue: "Photograph by David J. Morris Houston Post Houston, Texas".
