Description: Documents related to the case of The State of Texas vs. Bob Tanner, accused of murder of W. J. Healy, filed February 4, 1886. Documents include requests for witness attachments submitted by the prosecution and defense, a letter concerning witnesses from James K. Schmick (Sheriff and Tax Collector, Eastland County), Special Venire forms of jurors, a write of Habeas Corpus signed by judge F. A. Williams, witness subpoenas and attachments, a petition for a writ of Habeas Corpus signed by R. L. Tanner, a precept to serve a copy of the Venire and indictment to Bob Tanner, an arrest warrant for Bob Tanner, and a bill of indictment signed by grand jury foreman B. W. Wofford. The jury's verdict (not guilty) is written on the back of the indictment.
