Description: Chattel mortgage agreement made between W. H. Bonnell and Charles Schreiner Bank in the amount of $3,200 owed to the bank by Bonnell. Description: Transfer of vendor's lien note from W. H. Bonnell to Miss May F. A. Huntoon; Bonnell sold the note to Huntoon for the sum of $2,000 to be paid "on or before 19th day of September, 1931." According to this document, this transfer is only for note No. 5, which is one of five given by J. R. Logsdon; this note was "in part payment for...800 acres of land out of Survey's Nos. 100 in the names of Geo. Smith..."

[Two Drafts of a Memorandum of Contract Between Three Couples and Richard Nowlin]

Description: Memorandum of contract between Mr. and Mrs. Bonnell, Mr. and Mrs. Dickey, and Mr. and Mrs. Liljegren of the first party, and Richard and R. W. Nowlin of the second. The members of the first party "agree to sell and convey unto Richard and R. W. Nowlin the following real estate situated in Kerr County, Texas" including 500 acres from the James E. Bettner survey; in return, Nowlin will pay "twenty four dollars per acre" with one fourth being in cash and the remainder in three promissory notes.

[Land Sale Agreement Betwen the Bonnells, Dickeys, and Liljegrens]

Description: Land sale agreement made for the Bonnells, Dickeys, and Liljegrens for the sum of $10,752.80 to L. Roy Nowlin, "to be paid by L. Roy Nowlin with $3,584.26 cash, and "the following notes "one payable to Allie Bonnel, One note for $500.00 payable to Ethel B. Dickey and one note for $500.00 payable to Helen Bonnell Liljegren." The rest of the document contains information about the land that has been sold to Nowlin.

[Agreement Between the Bonnells, Dickeys, and Liljagrens]

Description: Agreement made between members of the Bonnell, Dickey, and Liljegren families regarding the rights and interests on the land owned by the deceased Charlotte Francis Bonnell in Kerr County. This agreement, made on June 17, 1921, divides the land into parts to be owned by each of the members of the family, after W. H. Bonnell "brought a suit in the District Court of Kerr County, Texas" due to his dissatisfaction with Charlotte's will.

Description: This document was issued to the Houston & Texas Central Railroad Company as the final instrument in the land grant process, assigning ownership to the railroad company for 640 acres in Tom Green County, section 21, block 20, as described in the patent. O. Henry wrote a fictional account of illegal proceedings concerning a land certificate, Bexar Scrip 2692, in the short story "Bexar Scrip 2692.” This is the patent that ultimately gave land ownership to the railroad via that certificate.

Release of Oil and Gas Lease

Description: Release document of an oil and gas lease between the Roxana Petroleum Corporation and Carl Harton and his wife Christiane Harton. The document states that the petroleum company is relinquishing 70 acres of property in Wharton County, along with all rights, to the Hartons. Signatures were made on the bottom by the vice-president of the corporation and a notary. When closed, on the back, the top quarter of the document condenses the document into two lines of text that read, "Release of Oil and Gas Lease Roxana Petroleum Corporation To."

Description: Land contract between Joy McCoy and Miss F. A.
