Description: This home movie documents Afsheen Nomai and Laura Treat's trip to the 2014 State Fair of Texas at Fair Park in Dallas. The footage begins with a close up of Big Tex and includes footage of Laura buying a Fletcher's Corny Dog, a performance by Rockin' Rick, sales demonstrations of knives and vacuums in an exhibit hall, the World on a String puppet show, Hendrick's Racing Pigs, and Big Tex speaking. Treat and Nomai watch a parade including floats featuring Ronald McDonald, the Fletcher's Corny Dog mascot, and a 1931 Greyhound bus. The movie concludes with a walk through the Midway and views of the fairgrounds shot from the Texas Star Ferris Wheel.

UNT State of the University Address: 2014

Description: Recording of the 2014 "State of the University" address by the UNT president. It begins with an introduction by James Conover of the Faculty Senate and a video from UNT. Neal Smatresk then begins his address, highlighting the University's achievements, the plan to reconcile past years' budgeting issues as well as the plans for further improving the campus and college programs.

[Sally Lloyd-Jones acceptance speech]

Description: Video recording of Sally Lloyd-Jones accepting the 2014 Rodda Award from the Church and Synagogue Library Association for her book Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing. The video was made in lieu of Lloyd-Jones attending the luncheon in Portland, Oregon at CSLA's 47th annual meeting where the award was officially announced. The first part of the video is a book trailer for Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing, which features illustrations from the book accompanied by an orchestral score. At the 1:25 mark, the video transitions to an image of Lloyd-Jones speaking while sitting and looking directly into the camera. Lloyd-Jones thanks the CSLA for the award, shares her inspiration for her book, and reads an excerpt.
