[Account of Nagasaki]

Description: Typewritten correspondence from an unknown sailor describing events in Nagasaki Harbor and city on September 11, 16, and 20th 1945. The document provides a first-hand account of damage from the atomic bomb from the sailor's viewpoint in Nagasaki harbor as well as naval operations during the period described and the affect on civilians in the area.

"Aloha" jacket

Description: Man's "Aloha" sports jacket of black cotton with collar and inserted front panels of hibiscus flower printed cotton. "Y-3" logo incorporated into hibiscus floral printed fabric. Single breasted with notched lapel. Long suit sleeves with hibiscus print fabric on top of right sleeve. Patch pockets at sides match fabric of corresponding front panel; vertical zippered pocket at seams of front panels. Center back vent is machine embroidered with Y-3 logo. Partially lined in black net.

[Atami Hotel Postcard]

Description: Postcard addressed to Mrs. E.A. Wakeham from her daughter. The image on the postcard is of the Atami Hotel and "Atami Hotel, Atami Hot Springs" is printed on the front along with some Japanese characters. Description: Dress of bright green silk chiffon printed with multicolor shapes and with all-over scattered sequins and beading. Description: Cape made from an antique Japanese obi brocade of red, gold, orange, browns, etc. on a cream ground. Embroidery is of cranes, mums, and other flowers. The cape is mid-length, with one button and loop at neck and with "tie" of same material as an extension of standing collar. Center front opening. Box pleats at sides.
