Description: Photograph of Hazel Petrey and Gilbert Dove standing on a fence. In the image, they stand on bridge connected two lands between wood fences. They will be wed soon after this photo is taken. Narrative by Junebug Clark: More images and information can be found in the July 28, 1941 issue of Life Magazine, pages 82-85 in the story “Life Magazine Goes to a Kentucky Wedding.” Also in the Joe Clark, HSSS book “Country Wedding" published in 1974. Additionally a 1982 photo of Hazel and Gilbert can be found in Joe Clark’s Tennessee Scrapbook. All are in the Clark Family Collection.

1941 Confirmation

Description: Black and white photograph of the confirmation class standing in front of the [Danevang Lutheran Church]. Seven girls and six boys stand arranged in three rows in front of the church building. They are accompanied by an older man, identified as Pastor A.E. Frost on the left. Behind the group, the church doors and two windows are visible. Above the building's doors is the inscription "ANS GAR KIRKE." On the back of the photograph is a note written in Danish.
