Dental Mold.

Description: Patent for dental mold, it is an improvement on patent no. 700855, by the same inventor. The improvement was to have open sides and large exit at the bottom of the lower neck of the mold, and a flask having a wide inlet in order to keep the molten metal from contact with the metal of the mold to avoid being suddenly cooled. Hoisting Apparatus.

Description: Patent for improvements in hoisting apparatus by “employing two cables and two sheaves that one cable and one sheave operate to elevate the weight or object in an approximately-vertical plane, so as to avoid contact with any side obstruction, while the secondary cable can subsequently be slackened sufficiently to permit the traveling sheave of the hoisting-cable to run off in a lateral direction and carry with it the sheave of the slackened secondary cable, for the purpose of transferring the object or weight to a desired position out of the line of the approximately-vertical direction first given to it.” (Page 2, lines 4-16) Illustration is included.

Drag-Saw.

Description: Patent for a simple and efficient drag-saw that can be easily transported and adjusted. The saw can also be lifted during operation if necessary. It has a frame, a longitudinally-grooved guiding-bracket attached to the frame, a reciprocating pitman-head that slides into the frame, a crank-shaft that operates the pitman-head, an arm that carries the saw with a pivotal connection to the pitman-head, a saw-frame secured to the pitman-head's outer end, an adjustable strap between the saw-carrying arm and the saw-frame for adjusting the saw-frame, a spring between the arm and the pitman-head, a saw-lifting lever fulcrumed on the machine-frame, a pendent stirrup carried by the lifting-lever and slotted to control the saw-carrying arm, and a guiding-bracket with a slot where the stirrup slides and another slot where the arm moves.

Check-Punch.

Description: Patent for a simple, inexpensive, and compact check-punch that can be operated by one hand and doesn't take much power to operate. The machine consists of two movable members, "one of which carries all of the male and the other all of the female dies, said members being so related that when moved relatively to each other in one direction all the male dies move as a single member...and enter the female dies, and when moved in the opposite direction all of said male dies are withdrawn" (lines 12-20).

Brush.

Description: Patent for a brush used with pressurized water to clean floors, walls, ceilings, horses, buggies, animal carcasses, etc. The brush can have a hose hooked up to it and has a valve. The water goes into the top of the brush and is distributed evenly throughout with holes in the top of the brush, and the water is sprayed through the bristles.

Car-Coupling.

Description: Patent for a car-coupling that has a draw-bar attached to the car, a hollow draw-head with a flaring opening that sits horizontally to the draw-bar, a spring that holds the draw-head in the horizontal position, a bar that raises and lowers the forward end of the draw-head against the spring, a coupling-pin that sits in the draw-head, a chain that connects the draw-head to the bell-crank lever, a cam that supports the chain, and a device that turns the cam in either direction in order to tighten the chain.

Mandrew Attachment.

Description: Patent for an improved, simple, inexpensive, durable, and efficient mandrel attachment that can be easily attached, detached, and adjusted. It has "a bar at one end with a plate for its attachment and at the other end with a cam and eccentric for detachable connection and adjustment the support carrying the cam and eccentric being hinged so as to drop down so that cylinder work can be slipped over the mandrel and then the eccentric and cam raised up and tightened to the bar to hold the work to be performed" (lines 18-27).

Vine-Cutter.

Description: Patent for a vine cutter that is meant "to simplify the construction of devices of this character by means of an integral formation of the cutter" (lines 8-10). It can be "adapted to be applied to a plow standard or foot consisting of a pair of cutting knives or shares integrally connected by a front cross-piece with a single central opening therein for the passage therethrough of a single securing bolt, the knives being rearwardly divergent and obliquely arranged at a downward angle, the lower edges of said knives or shares being sharpened and their rear ends curved upwardly, the said lower edges of the knives or shares adjacent to the said cross-piece being formed blunt" (lines 90-102).
