[Photograph of Man Giving a Speech Outside at Fort Davis National Historic Site]
Description:
Photograph of a middle-aged man with short, dark hair, wearing a brown suit jacket and tie, standing in front of a brown, wooden podium. Behind her is a large group of people sitting in rows on either side of the podium. In front of the podium and the rest of the people on the platform, there are large strips of red, white, and blue fabric draped on a frame to imitate an American flag and separate the platform from the dirt lot in front of it. There is an American flag hanging from a flagpole on the far left end of the stage, behind the sitting people. In the background, there are three small, red brick, one-story houses sit in a row behind the platform and a tall, rocky range in the distant background. There are National Park Service emblems over the red, white and blue bunting. This is likely taken at the event when Fort Davis National Historic Site was authorized as a unit of the National Park System in 1961.
