[Letter from Meyer Bodansky to Frank J. Heck - October 18, 1939]

Description: Letter from Dr. Meyer Bodansky to Dr. Frank J. Heck, who is from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The letter, which is dated October 18, 1939, discloses the account of a mother and her young boy who was diagnosed with leukemia. Dr. Bodansky explains that he is trying to help the mother, who insists on going to a known "charlatan" physician, who falsely claims that the boy has malaria. Dr. Bodansky describes some of the boy's blood tests and informs Dr. Heck that he has enclosed two smears with the letter to examine. Dr. Bodansky requests that Dr. Heck feel free to comment or advise on the issue.

Description: Photocopy of a letter from Cassandra Broadus, North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Pam Pedigo, Pilot Point Elementary School. In regards to Pedigo and the other fourth grade teachers on their Persian Miniature and Islamic art display in the school's foyer. Broadus writes that when she visited the school the past Wednesday, Sylvia Russel shared Pedigo's Mid-East unit and how art was included into the study. NTIEVA will be working with PPISD for the next five years and Broadus wants Pedigo to be apart of the program to help teachers integrate visual arts.

Description: Letter from Anne Higgins to John J. Herrera regarding William "Bill" F. S. Edwards, whom her daughter Shauna met at a restaurant. Edwards gave Herrera's name as a reference when Higgins and her husband expressed doubts as to his supposed credentials, including a number of prestigious universities attended and degrees awarded. Higgins doubts Edwards's future plans of becoming a cardio-vascular doctor due to his tendency to spend most of his time in restaurants, drinking coffee and smoking. Higgins includes a photograph of Edwards.
