Description: Photograph of the Government Palace of the State of Campeche (Palacio de Gobierno del Estado de Campeche) in Campeche, Mexico. This building was built in 1963 in order to replace the old government palace. The building is also known as the "Edificio de los Poderes" which translates to "Powers Building." A mural by artist, José Chávez Morado, is part of the building's façade. The Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral (Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción) is also visible in the distance.

[Republic Square (Plaza de La República)]

Description: Photograph of the Republic Square (Plaza de La República) in Campeche, Mexico. The Sea Gate (Puerta de Mar) is present on the right side of the plaza just across the street from the other buildings. The gate was one of four built in the 18th century along with a wall in order to defend the city from pirate attacks. The Eagle Monument (Monumento del Águila) can be seen in the background on the left. The Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral (Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción) is also visible in the distance.
