In regards to Biggers being unable to speak at the opening session during NTIEVA's summer institute. Reynolds writes the institute has been showing Biggers' "Hampton video" to their teachers and including his work from the Dallas Museum of Art into their study print collection. Reynolds writes that Jack Davis, Bill McCarter and herself have worked with Ollie Theisen to present a teacher workshop in conjunction with Bigger's exhibit in Mount Pleasant and she is working with others to produce an education video for the students and are requesting Biggers permission to use some of his images in the video. Description: Photocopy of a letter from Bill McCarter, co-director of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Raymond Nasher, The Nasher Company. Mentioning a meeting, that Nasher chaired on, which energized the entire faculty and how disappointed McCarter is, because of scheduling conflicts, that Nasher will be unable to participate in the leadership retreat scheduled for June 1. McCarter also mentions literature that he forwarded to Nasher and hopes the he understands the enthusiasm for the concepts behind the NTIEVA's projects. McCarter then mentions that Dallas I.S.D. was unable to continue as a consortium district because of finalized details, yet McCarter hopes to reactivate Dallas after meeting with Howard Dunn and conversing with Janice Wiggins. McCarter ends the letter expressing concern about funding for the Institute. Copied on the letter is Rick Brettell.

The North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts supports and endorses the proposal, giving thoughtful consideration for its funding. Reynolds explains in the letter that NTIEVA is a program devoted to research and development of discipline-based art education (DBAE), and that Fort Worth ISD and Burton Hill has been a model for the development of the strategies implemented from the program. NTIEVA will continue to support the educational initiative taking place at Burton Hill.
