[Written Account of the Origins of the Danevang Farmers Cooperative Society]

Description: Four page account of the beginning of the Danevange Farmers Cooperative Society written by W. E. Paulson, a marketing specialist in the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station at Texas A. & M. University. Early hardships in Danevange frame the communal spirit of the early Texas Danes, who begin cooperative enterprises after the devastating "Galveston storm" in 1900. Mr. Paulson ends with some of the financial benefits of the Coop society on Danevange.

Description: Letters between Dr. Meyer Bodansky from the University of Texas School of Medicine, and Dr. John W. Spies, who is the Dean of the School of Medicine. In the second letter, which is dated September 16, 1940, Dr. Meyer Bodansky requests vacation time for either October or November of the same year. The first letter, which is dated September 16, 1940, is a response from Dr. Spies to Dr. Bodansky, and requests that he bring up the matter closer to the time.

[Isaacson Cotton Gin Company, El Campo, Texas]

Description: Black and white photograph of a building known as the Isaacson Gin Company, where cotton is processed. The building is made of wood and has several different sections to it. The yard just outside the company is teeming with horse-drawn or animal-drawn wagons. Each wagon is filled with cotton; some of them are covered with a tarp. In the distance, several houses are visible, as are dirt roads that lead to and from the company yard.
