The Special Collections Department collects and preserves rare and unique materials including rare books, oral histories, university archives, historical manuscripts, maps, microfilm, photographs, art and artifacts. The department is located in UNT's Willis Library in the fourth floor Reading Room.
Video footage from the WBAP-TV television station in Fort Worth, Texas, covering a news story about Forest Park zoo attendant Jill Johnston taking a new bus service from downtown Fort Worth to the zoo carrying a barrel holding a monkey. The story includes footage of Johnston boarding the bus and bus driver J.G. Massey feeding Shanti the elephant. Johnston undresses to reveal a bikini and floats the barrel to the zoo's new Monkey Island where she releases the monkey.
