these meetings were held were that no opportunity would be given
for membership until after the meeting.
And now in conclusion, let me say that I have helped to build
churches and schoolhouses ever since the year 1838. I did what
I could for the cause of Christianity until the year 1854, when I
moved to McLennan county, and for the rest of my Christian life
I refer you to B. H. Carroll, R. C. Burleson and R. E. Buckner
and yourself.1

ter to Reverend J. L. iWalker, of Bruceville, Texas, and dated ,March 16,
1895.
