The Archives of the University of Texas at Austin are engaged in
an effort to collect the campaign literature, records, and correspond-
ence of candidates for state and national office in the Texas election
of 1968. The director of the Archives, Chester Kielman, believes that
such materials should be made available for use by qualified scholars
because of the crucial role that politics has played in the development
of modern Texas. The director welcomes contributions of this material
to the Archives by candidates, members of the Association, and inter-
ested Texans. Materials from previous state and national campaigns
will also be gratefully accepted. Donors may place appropriate restric-
tions on the use of records, files, and correspondence. All contribu-

V. Kielman, Director, University of Texas Archives, Barker Texas His-

the regular National Archives microfilm publication program which
has been in existence since 1941 and which films about 6,000,00o pages
of records annually. It will be the first time that records in the Federal
Records Centers have been included in the microfilm publication
program.
In addition to the filming of Federal court records, efforts will be
carried forward on collecting microfilm copies of court records for all
states in existence by 1840. Responsibility for that portion of the
