by the consistent and frequent quota-
tion of its content by other newspapers,
and also by public speakers . . . by
the manner and frequency with which
people mention it in their daily con-
versations.

tion of the traditional Texan attitude
toward The Dallas Morning News.

The News is the only newspaper
in Texas whose daily issues are
filed by the libraries of the Uni-
versity of Chicago and Duke Uni-
versity for permanent record.
The News is the only Texas news-
paper included in the Political
Handbook of the World, pub-
lished by Harper & Bros., a list-
ing of influential newspapers "apt
to be quoted abroad."

The News was cited by the maga-
zine Time as one of fourteen
American newspapers from which
the six leaders can be chosen.
A medal was awarded to The
News by the Missouri University
School of Journalism for "Distin-
guished Service in Journalism."
