raham's college career at Texas
Tech. his early career in the dry
goods business in Paducah and
his marriage to his wife. Helen,
before coming to Canadian,
where he joined his father in

that his brother has used his
college connections to help
benefit Canadian.
Ray Morey spoke on behalt of
the First Presbyterian Church,
of which Abraham is a long-time
member, former treasurer, dea-
con, elder and at one time
chairman of the building com-
mittee. His interest in and
active participation in the Ma
sonic Lodge was also mention-
ed.
Mayor George Arrington
spoke about Abraham's work as
a member of the Canadian
Rotary Club, past president,
committee chairman and mem-
ber. and as a Paul Harris
Fellow. He also noted Abra-
ham's participation and interest
in local and state politics, and
his work on the city's Zoning
Committee, the American Can
cer Society, the Red Cross, the
March of Dimes and the Board
of Equalization.
In closing his tribute Mayor
Arrington presented the hon
oree with a key to the City of
Canadian.
