of Dimmitt, a boy.
W. Dillion and family were in
town Saturday doing some trading
with our merchants.
S. Loveless and family arrived on
Sunday's train from Italy and hence-
forth make Hereford their home.
Dr. Rogers, wife and daughter,
Miss Sydney, came in Tuesday a-nd
have rented S. H. Morris' cosy res-
idence.
N. E. Hord and family came in
Sunday from their North Draw ranch
and left that evening for a visit
among Amarillo friends.

Geo. Cloyd and Walter Sullivan
came in Tuesday from their Castro
county ranches with several bales of
lake hay of excellent quality, which
they readily disposed of to Stam-
baugh & Camp at a good price.
Dr. C. P. Estes and family came
in on Sunday from Italy and will
locate here. Dr. Estes was here last
month prospecting and was so well
pleased with Hereford and its pros-
pects that he decided to come here
to stay. . ^
Sheriff G. C'. Hutchison and fam-
ily of Tulia are visiting Mrs. Hutch-
ison's parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. R.
Gass. Mr. Hutchison paid this
office a pleasant call and ordered the
Reporter sent to him tor the com-
ing year,
W. H, Scarborough, who lives
ten miles south of town, made this
office a pleasant and appreciate visit
Wednesday and celebrated the new
year by subscribing to the Reporter
for himself and father, the latter
living at Rosebud.
Judge L. Gough on Monday pur-
chased a fine young registered Here-
ford calf from L. R. Bradly's fam-
ous Tierra Blanco herd of Herefords
for $203. This animal, which is a
beauty, was sired by Climax, and its
mother is ci the Hesiod and B?au-
real family.

Charles Croley of Castro county
returned Saturday from a business
and pleasure trip to Denton.
G. R. Jowell returned Saturday
from Ft. Worth, where he had been
spending the holidays with his
daughters, Misses Lura and Empress,
who are attending a conservatory of
music at that place.
W. F. Manning oí Bellvue is vis-
iting his brother-in-law. J, A. Fox,
having arrived last Friday. Mr.
Manning paid this office a pleasant
visit and left Si.50 for a subscrip-
tion to the Reporter.
R. H. Norton claims to be a sure
enough farmer now, having renently
sold over $500 worth of farm pro-
duce. Mr. Norton said this was tho
first tfmc in his ca«eer as a stock
farmer that he had sold anything
from his farm except stock.
C. E. Wheeler returned from
Amarillo Sunday. While at that
place Mr. Wheeler bought 50 head
of high grade Hereford and Durham
cattle of Geo. Kilgore of that place.
Mr. Wheeler left Monday to trans-
fer the cattle bought from Amarillo
to his ranch on the North Draw.
