CREATING MULESHOE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
DISTRICT IN BAILEY COUNTY.
H. B. No. 160.] CHAPTER 7.
An Act to create the Muleshoe Independent School District in Bailey
County, Texas; including the present Muleshoe Consolidated Common
School District No. 1, of said County, and also including Sections 22
and 23 in Block Y out of Hurley Common School District No. 1 of
said county; providing for a board of trustees therefor; vesting said
independent school district and board of trustees with all the rights,
powers, privileges and duties conferred upon independent school districts,
incorporated under the General Laws of Texas; providing that
the board of trustees of the present Muleshoe Consolidated Common
School District No. 1, shall continue to act as such until their successors
are elected in accordance with the General Laws of Texas;
providing board of trustees to have power to appoint a tax assessor
and collector and board of equalization for said district; providing
that outstanding bonds shall remain chargeable against the territory
which voted same, and providing that the local tax assessment as
heretofore existed in the Muleshoe Consolidated School District No. 1,
shall remain in force in the school district herein created; repealing
all laws in conflict herewith and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That Muleshoe Independent School District is
hereby created and established in Bailey County, Texas, containing
within its limits the Muleshoe Consolidated Common
School District No. 1, in said county and in addition thereto
Sections 22 and 23 in Block Y out of the Hurley Common School
District No. 1, in said county, said territory described as follows
to-wit:
Beginning at the N .W. corner of Sec. 11, Blk. X in League
598 Capitol Syndicate Sur.; thence east to the N. W. corner
of Sec. 22 Blk. X; thence east to the N. W. corner of Sec. 23,
Blk. X; thence east to the N. W. corner of Sec. 12, Blk. Y;
thence east to the N. W. corner of Sec. 21, Blk Y in League 599
Capitol Syndicate Sur.; thence north to the N. W. corner of Sec.
22, Blk. Y; thence north to the N. W. corner of Sec. 23, Blk. Y;
thence north to the N. W. corner of Sec. 24, Blk. Y; thence north
to point of intersection of the west line of Sec. 25, Blk. Y with
the county line between Parmer and Bailey Counties in League
588 Capitol Syndicate Sur.; thence east along said county line to
its intersection with the east line of Sec. 48, Blk. Y in League
586 Capitol Syndicate Sur.; thence south to the N. E. corner of
Sec. 49, Blk. Y; thence south to the N. E. corner of Sec. 50, Blk.
Y; thence south to the N. E. corner of Sec. 51, Blk. Y; thence
south to the N. E. corner of Sec. 52, Blk. Y; thence south to the
N. E. corner of Sec. 53, Blk. Y; thence south to the N. E. corner
of Sec. 54, Blk. Y; thence south to the N. E. corner of Sec. 55,
Blk. Y; thence south to the N. E. corner of Sec. 56, Blk. Y; thence
south to the S. E. corner of Sec. 56, Blk. Y; where the east line
of Sec. 56, Blk. Y intersects the north line of Garza County
school land; thence west along the north line of the Garza County
school land to the N. W. corner of Garza County school land;
