9 WHEREAS, The Class 2A state championship game pitted the
10 Shallowater Fillies against Aubrey High School, and this determined
11 group of young athletes responded magnificently, winning the season
12 finale 44-37 to claim their first-ever state title and complete
13 their season with a record of 36 wins against only two defeats; and
14 WHEREAS, Shallowater team member Katy Pounds was named State
15 Tournament MVP and placed on the State All-Tournament Team with
16 teammates Casey Burnett and Kameron Cates; and
17 WHEREAS, The successful fulfillment of the team's
18 championship dream was the result of a total commitment to
