80 GENERAL LAWS.
doves in the North zone during the months of September and
October; in the South Zone during the months of October and
November, as such zones are defined in Article 878 of the Penal
Code of the State of Texas, as amended in Chapter 222, page
326 of the 40th Legislature, Regular Session. All laws or
parts of laws in conflict with this Act shall be and the same are
hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. It shall be unlawful to hunt, take or kill any wild
Mourning doves at any time except as provided in Section 1
of this Act.
SEC. 3. Any person who shall hunt, take or kill any wild
Mourning doves at any time except as provided in Section 1
of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction shall be fined in any sum not less than Ten ($10.00)
Dollars, nor more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, and
each bird so taken or killed shall constitute a separate offense.
SEC. 4. The fact that the present laws regulating hunting,
taking or killing of wild Mourning doves are inadequate for
the protection and conservation of such doves creates an emergency
and an imperative necessity that the Constitutional Rule
requiring bills to be read on three several days in each House
be and the same is hereby suspended, so that this Act shall
take effect and be in full force on and after its passage, and
it is so enacted.
Effective 90 days after adjournment.

in the Executive Office February 17, 1930, and in the
Department of State February 17, 1930, without the Governor's

An Act amending Articles 2994, 3886, 3891, 3892, 3897, 3932, 3937,
7331 and 7332, as amended, and reenacting and amending Article
3883, and repealing Articles 3900, 3912 and 3894 of the Revised Civil
Statutes of Texas, of 1925; repealing all provisions of law in conflict
with this Act; all of said Articles relating to fees and compensation of
county, district and precinct officers; providing that if any portion of
this Act be declared unconstitutional or invalid the remainder shall
not be affected thereby; declaring an emergency; and providing that
this Act shall become effective on January 1, 1931.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That Article 2994 of the Revised Civil Statutes
of Texas of 1925 be amended so that it shall hereafter read as
follows:
