THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 18:17.
LEGISLATURE ADJOURNED.
f. C. TaoiPSOM, Editor ui Proprietor
WALTER S. WILSON. Local Editor.
On Sunday, June 20, the 25th
Session of The Texas Legisla-
ture Passed Into History
without a Quorum in
Either House.
Tft Collin Populists.
Blue Ridge, Tex., June 21, '1*7.
To the populists of Collin county.
I wish to make a few sugges-
tions through the columns of
Thk Democrat as to matters
affecting our party in Collin
county.
It has been suggested that we
have a county convention some
time this summer to outline and
discuss the future policy of our
party in this county. Now I wish
to suggest further that this con-
vention be held in the country
and he Id two days. The weather
will be warm and delegates can
come in wagons and camp on the
grounds, and remain until the
business is fully completed; and
will not be bothered by other bu
iness matters to be attended to
if the convention met in town.
Now if there are any communi
ties in the county which would
like to have the convention let
them call a meeting of the popu-
lists of their community and take
the matter under consideration;
and if they decide to favor it
write me at my address and state
fully the points of advantage of
their locality. There are a num-
ber of county communities which i
would be quite desirable. If this
plan is adopted I will secure the
services of one or two good
farm juit north of the city. They
were very line, some of them
weighing pounds. Mr. Hen-
dricks raised about forty bushels
of these fine onions. This shows
that with a little care Texas can
compete with California in the
onion industry.
