COURTHOUSE BOND ISSUE CARRIES
The Election Yesterday to Vote a $125,000 Court House for Deaf Smith County Resulted in a
Vote of 303 For the Bonds and 102 Against at the boxes in the city. Unofficial returns
from all the County boxes indicate a heavy majority against the issue, but the Bonds
will carry with a safe margin. Congratultions are now in order.
EXHIBITS WANTED
Dallas Fair Committee Issues Cir-
cular Letter to Farmers and
Truck Growers.
To the Citizens of Hereford and
Deaf Smith County.
As a committee appointed by The
Commercial Club to handle the Dal-
las Fair exhibit, we respectfully urge
every loyal citizen of Hereford and
Deaf Smith County to assist us in
gathering an exhibit that will be a
credit to us at the Fair.
Bring in your best samples of field
crops, garden truck, etc., and leave
same at the office of the O K Land
Company, where the exhibit is being
stored. Or phone any member of
the committee and the stuff will be
called for.
The name of the owner will be
placed on every exhibit, and credit
will be given strictly where it be-
longs.
The ladies are also respectfully
requested to help in the matter of
preserved fruits, etc.

The election went off auietly, both
sides working hard alf day. At
night the victors railed out the brass
band, held a jubilee, tired a few sal-
utes and serenaded most of the lead-
ers on the losing side. W. H. flav-
or appeared on his front porch when
the band had played one number and
in a short speech acknowledged bis
defeat and added that he had lost by
fair means and at the hands of as
! brave men as the world produced
