LOVE IN BOOM!
BRIDGEPORT Conn. (AFPS)—
The local civil defense plan to is
sue identification tags to school
children has hit a snag. Officials
discovered that boys and girls were
exchanging the tags as tokens of
affection.
Bars are something which if
you go into many of you are apt
to come out singing a few of and
maybe land behind some.

RED CROSS
(Continued from Page 1)
the virus reaches the nerve tissue.
Last November the Red Cross
was asked by the Office of De
fense Mobilization -to expand its
defense blood collections to produce
as much gamma globulin for the
summer's epidemic needs as blood
processing laboratories can turn
out.
Past experience indicates that
the disease will reach epidemic
proportions in about 150 countries
and that some two million chil
dren will be exposed to it.
Since the amount of globulin
needed will far exceed the expect
ed supply its allocation and distri
bution will be handled in a man
ner determined by ODM and the
National Research Council.
BET HE'S CURDDLED!
CHICAGO HI. (AFPS)—Eli Wes
ton 60 was granted a divorce by
Judge John F. Haas when he told
the judge that his wife left home
40 years ago after they were mar
ried four days and had never re
turned. Mr. Weston claimed his
wife went out to get a bottle of
milk and he was tired of waiting
for her to return.
