MRS. MARIO MA, wife of the construction contractor,
is visiting relatives in Hong Kong DANIEL WONG,
owner of Ming Palace Restaurant, recently hosted a
Chinese buffet and champagne party in celebration of his
acquiring Pacific Ten Fathoms Restaurant, 740 Polk in
Downtown Houston. Over 300 Well-wishers attended the
event....Be sure to pick up a February issue of Texas
Monthly magizine. It features an article called "Fire
and Rice" on Szechuan and Hunan style restaurants in
Texas. The model in the photograph accompanying the
article is SHARON WONG, a native of San Antonio
January 22nd was an especially popular date for
weddings:
MR. DAVID LEE, son of MR. $ MRS. BOB F00 LEE, and
MISS MILLIE YEE, the daughter of MR. 5 MRS. PARK YEE of
Tululah, Louisiana, exchanged vows at the Chinese Baptist
Church of Houston. A dinner and dance were held later
that evening at the Houston Oaks Hotel.
Tying the knot in League City that date were Mr.
Lynn Urich, and MISS COOKIE JOE the daughter of MR. 5
MRS. LAWRENCE JOE.
While in San Antonio, a Chinese style wedding ban-
quet was held in honor of the marriage of MR. CHEOK KIN
HUI, the son of MR. § MRS. SOM CHONG HUI, and MISS MIU
HAN LEE, the daughter of MR. $ MRS. LUEN F00 LEE, at
the Golden Palace Restaurant.

The Houston Gee Tuck Sam Tuck Family Association
recently received its charter to operate a credit union.
Officers of that organization are now in the process
of recruiting members for the credit union A Grand
Opening bash for the HUNAN EAST RESTAURANT was held
on Jan. 14th. It is located at 10001 Westheimer in the
Carrilion West Shopping Center, and the proud owners
are MR. 5 MRS. PETER HWANG....The American Automobile
Association (Triple A) now has a Chinese representative
in Houston. JEFF LEE,recently transplanted from hist-
oric old Boston, is very enthusiastic about the special
benefits available to Texas AAA members. He lives in
the Glencairn subdivision with his wife Paula and their

CHINESE BAPTIST CHURCH NEWS:
A new Cantonese Sunday afternoon service has begun since
the middle part of December, 1977, from *+:30 to 5:30 P.M.
every Sunday in the Chapel of C.B.C. especially for those
who, because of work or business, cannot attend the Sunday
morning service. However, all are welcome to attend.
The Chinese Baptist Church will begin from March 5th to
hold dual services on Sunday mornings, with the English
Worship Service to be held from 9:30 to 10c30 A.M. and
the Chinese Worship Service from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon. The
Sunday School hours, therefore, will be adjusted accord-
ingly: Chinese Sunday School to be held from 9:30 to
10:30 A.M., and the English Sunday School from 11 A.M.
to 12 Noon.
