One of the year's grandest weddings took place in
Houston Sunday, April 16th with the marriage of MOLLY
GEE and RAYMOND L. WONG. The bride is the daughter of
MR. & MRS. GORDON GEE of Houston, and the groom is the
son of MR. £ MRS. HERBERT L. WONG of San Antonio. The
marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. Lok-Tin
Chueng in the Chinese Baptist Church, and a reception
dinner was held that night at the new Galleria Plaza
Hotel

DR. MARY KWAN, doctor of internal medicine at

Dashwood, Suite h-F, recently returned from a trip to
Mainland China with a group of U.S. doctors. While in
Peking and Canton she was able to see her mother and
other family members for the first time in over 30 years.
Dr. Kwan speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese
DR. YHI-MIN HO has been named dean of the new
school of business at the University of St. Thomas. With
St. Thomas since 1970, he has been chairman of the uni-
versity's departments of economics and business admini-
stration. Dr. Ho holds a Phd degree from Vanderbilt Uni-
vers i ty
ANDY AND KATY WEN are keeping busy with their year
old business Wenco Equities. They deal in commercial
real estate transact ions.... PEGGY KING says business is
booming for her Elegant Real Estate Co. Investors from
Brazil seem especially interested in apartment complexes
and shopping centers The MUNG CHEUNG TRADING COMPANY,
dealing in Chinese imports form Mainland China and some
imported groceries, will soon open at 1109 Jackson next
door to China Garden Restaurant. Owner of the trading
company is MR. P.L. CHOW. By the way, China Garden's
owner MR. DAVID JOE tells me his second restaurant is now
under construction at 1600 Leeland at Crawford
Mr. & Mrs. Yip, Mr. & Mrs. Kirby Moy, Mr. & Mrs. rred Moy
Former Houstonians MR. 6 MRS. FRED MOY, now Oakland
residents, recently celebrated the marriage of their son
KIRBY to a lovely Oakland girl YUMMY CHOW CHINESE
RESTAURANT has opened its doors for business at 7^11 Bis-
sonett. Owners are JOE CHOW and SUNNY CHOW.... Don't for-
get to stop by MEL CHIN's ^5 ft. "Palm Tree" sculpture
on display during Main Street '78, May 6th and 7th. The
arts festival is being held this year in the downtown
Civic Center area around Jones Plaza and Tranquility Park
from noon to 6 pm
DIANA JEU, the daughter of MR.6 MRS. GUM JEU, was
inducted in Alpha Lamda Delta, the University of Texas
chapter of the Freshman Scholastic Honor Society. Members
of the Honor Society must maintain at least a 3*5 grade
point average The Camp Cougar Dance-a-thon was held
April 13-1^ at the University of Houston. Members of var-
ious UH student organizations gathered in the arbor of the
UC to dance for 25 hours to raise funds for Camp Cougar,
a summer camp for mentally hadicapped children. Among
the groups participating was the UH CHINESE STUDENTS'
ASSOCIATION. They were sponsored by many Chinese busi-
nesses in town. Over $A,000 ended up being raised!....
The Chinese American Legion Post #596 will hold its
Annual Appreciation Banquet on Tuesday, May 23rd at Yet
Wah Restaurant. For more information please call Jon

the GOLDEN FOUNTAIN RESTAURANT in Spring, Texas. Mr. Ng
has worked as the head chef in many Houston Chinese rest-
aurants and will be introducing many new authentic dishes
