MEXICAN LAW NATIONALIZING OIL
WILL BE WIPED ASIDE BY HUERTA
HY '1IK ASSoCtATKl) PKLSS
MEXICO CITY July 9 The articlevof the Mexican constitu-
tion which nationalizes oil will be theoretically sustained but all de-
crees issued by Former President Car ran za prejudicing prior rights
of petroleum owners will be abrogated by a presidential decree
to be issued soon according to a statement by provisional president
Huerta.
Five generals have taken arms against the -new government
Huerta told newspaper correspondents but they do not constitute a
military menace because they have only a few followers he said.
Huerta said "while the nation will tell oi! men that it owns
petroleum in sub-soil what difference will it make when the govern-
ment cedes to operators the right to extract this oil and dispose of
it at their own pleasure "

JONES AND
PLAN TO
ABOUT CAR SITUATION
Congressman Marvin Jones and J. W. Mulhern of the car ser-
vice section of the Interstate Commerce Commission are both in
the city and plan a trip over the Panhandle to get first-hand informa-
tion concerning the seriousness of the situation arising from a lack
of cars to ship away the products of the farcss. The general condi-
tions were laid before the car service representatives at a mating
in the Panhandle-Plains Chamber of Commerce rooms yesterday
afternoon. Bankers county judges and representatives of commer-
cial bodies told of the situation in their respective communities.
