263. Church History.
This quarter includes the period from 600 to the Zwinglian reformation.
Both eastern and western churches are studied The
political, racial, economic, and educational conditions are studied in
their bearings on the religious history. Scholasticism and humanism
come in for a share. Some insight into the life of the ordinary people
f sought. Monasticism is considered. Luther's work is included.
273. Church History.
This quarter considers the rise of the several great movements
of Protestantism. The currents and conflicts on the continent come
first. Then follows consideration of the religious development in
Britain. The spread of Christianity by colonization is followed by
modern conditions, particularly those in our own country.
315. Medieval History.
A careful study of the Middle Ages with special reference to the
development of the nations of Europe.

322. Germany Since 1740. A brief survey of the beginning and development
of the German Empire.

332. Germany Today. A careful study of the ideals and institutions
which brought on the great war.

343. Napoleon and the French Revolution. A study of the events
which terminated in the Congress of Vienna and the downfall of Napoleon
Bonaparte.

353. France Under the Third Republic. A survey of the FrancoPrussian
War and the rise of the modern French nation.

POLITICAL ECONOMY
215. Principles of Economics. The principles of economics of the
present will be studied in this course. The course will deal with value,
production, and distribution.

225. Principles of Economics. This is a continuation of course
215. Some time will be devoted to monopolies, money and banking,
labor organization, railways, agriculture, etc.
