reading rooms. Not more than five "week" books or one "reserve"
book may be charged out to anyone at the same time.
The teachers are expected to observe the same rules as the
students. Libraries are maintained primarily for students. The
Librarian will make a report of the fines charged to each instructor.
The Bursar will deduct these fines from the salary.
The library will be open from 7:50 a. m. to 12:30 p. m., and
from 1:30 p. m. to 4:45 p. m. except on Sundays and Mondays.
STUDENTS WHO RECEIVE FREE TUITION.
All students preparing exclusively for church work or Christian
service are given free tuition in Abilene Christian College.
The management feels, however, that all students that take
advantage of free tuition are thus indebted to the institution to
do their best work, in school and later. The school requires
that any such student who later gives up exclusively Christian
work must pay the tuition that has been given. The character
and reputation of the students given this advantage must be kept
above reproach.
All students receiving free tuition on this score are required
to take not less than 5 hours each term in Bible.
These students must also be willing to take the lead in religious
activities of the school, particularly mission study, young
people's meetings, and Bible classes on Sunday.
Students receiving free tuition must make grades averaging
B or above, counting all their courses, and must pursue at least
twelve hours of regular work.
Also, students that accept this privilege may be required to
contribute therefor their services in doing clerical, library, or
other office work under the direction of the faculty as may be
desired by the management, not to exceed a total of four hours
per week.
SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES.
All the work of Abilene Christian College is divided into
four distinct schools:
1. The College of Arts and Sciences, which offers courses
in eleven different departments, and which confers upon the
successful completion of a four year course the Bachelor of
Arts degree.
