ADVANCED WORK.
More advanced work will be given to meet the needs of the
individual student.
VOICE.
MISS DUNN
First Year.
Principles of correct breathing. Formation and correct placing
of tones. Marchesi-Concone. Simple English songs.
Second Year.
Exercises in scales; arpeggios with the idea of precision and
flexibility. Galozzi, Italian pronunciation. Songs from old and
modern composers.
Third Year.
Continuation of studies and exercises for the flexibility of
the voice. Books No. I and II of Anthology of Italian song.
Classical songs from master composers.
Fourth Year.
The study of operatic arias from the French, German and
Italian composers with the original texts. Arias from the standard
oratorios; Advanced song literature from the French, German,
and Italian schools.
Note.-Students who receive certificates in this department
must be able to play accompaniments of moderate difficulty. One
year in harmony; sight singing; history of music.
ADVANCED WORK.
More advanced courses are a continuation of the foregoing
work and are given to meet the advancement and requirements of
the individual student.
MUSIC CLUBS.
The Glee Club.
The Glee Club consists of voices selected by competitive examination
and is open to all young men in Abilene Christian Col
