portunity to make up the work will be granted. Two tardies may
count an absence.
Three unexcused absences during one term result in suspension
from the course.
Three unexcused absences from chapel during any one term may
result in suspension from school.
Withdrawals
If any student should wish to withdraw from the college, he should
see the president and receive an honorable discharge. A failure to
comply with this regulation may mean the loss of all returnable fees
and dismissal from the college.
Any student desiring temporary absence from the college will obtain
permission before absenting himself. If a student should leave
without permission, he will be permitted to remain in school only on
probation.
When a student withdraws from the school the Registrar shall at
once notify the teachers concerned.
Change in Course of Study
A student may change his course in either of two ways. The instructor
may recommend the change, or the student may change his
course, provided he gets the consent of the instructor whose department
he leaves and the instructor whose department he enters. The
recommendations must be taken to the Dean, who may accept or reject
them.
Changes on the part of the student will be made only upon the
payment to the Registrar of one dollar change fee.
Any student who presumes to change a course through any other
method may be dismissed.
Examinations
At the end of each term there will be held a series of final examinations.
Each instructor is asked to give the examinations. The
Dean reserves the right to "condition" the work of any course upon
which exemptions are made.
A fee of one dollar will be charged for any examination taken at
a time other than when scheduled.
Library Deposit
A library deposit of $5.00 must be made at entrance. Four dollars
of this will be returned at the end of the term, except any part that
may be deducted for loss or damage of books or for keeping them out
over time. Books may be kept out for seven days, except those on reserve
shelves, which may be kept out one hour only. A fine of five
cents per day will be charged for regular books kept over time, and
of ten cents per hour for reserve shelf books not returned on time.
This is a protection to the student himself as well as to the library.
Encyclopedias or other reference books may not be taken from the
reading rooms. Not more than five "week" books or one "reserve"
book may be charged out to anyone at the same time.
The teachers are expected to observe the same rules as the students.
Libraries are maintained primarily for students. The Librarian
will make a report of the fines charged to each instructor. The
Bursar will deduct these fines from the salary.
