Bulldogs To
Meet Rogers
Eagles Friday
The Bartlett Bulldogs will
meet their third class A team
of the season when they play
the "Rogers- Eagles in -Rogers
Friday night.
Thfs will be the first year
for the Bulldogs to meet the
Eagles as a non-conference op-
ponent. Rogers was moved to
class A this year from class B
wWa. thev had been in the
same conference as Bartlett f6r
manv years.
The Eucrles boast a strong
team this year having defeated
Temple B which deteated lioi-
1 land and piling up a huge score
nirainst Moody last week.
The Bulldogs will play two
more non-district games before
entering district play on Octo-
ber 19 with Salado at Salado.

Bell County Voting
Place Changed
Harold Clark chairman of
Partlett's Bell County voting
box announced this week that
the voting' place has been
changed from the City Hall to
the showroom of Crittenden Mo-
tor Co.
The change is bein made hq
stated because Crittenden Motor
Co. is more centrally located
and there will be more space and;
privacy in voting in that loca-
tion. The change will bo in effect
for the next election which i&
the general election on Novem-
ber 6.
Alfred Hand 52
Dies At Rosenberg
Alfred Hand 52 died unex-
pectedly at his home in Rosen-
berg last Friday. Mrs. Hand is
the former Agnes Gersbach of
Bartlett.
Funeral services were" held
Monday afternoon from the
fusral chapel in Rosenberg.
Burial was in the Rosenberg
Memorial Park.
Mr. Hand born in Mississippi
had been a resident of Rosen
borg nearly all his life where he
had been engaged in tanning.
He is survived by his wife;
one son James Edward of Ros-
enberg: one granddaughter; and
his stepmother Mrs. Ilsa Hand:
of San Antonio.

man of the Williamson County
Homo Demonstration Council
at the Annual H. D. Achieve-
ment Day held last Friday at
the Bartlett Electric Coopera-
tive building here.

Death Takes Sister

Mrs. T. W. Davis 70 sister of

died at a Temple hospital Sun-
day after an illness of several
weeks.
She was born near Oenaville
April 22 1886 and had lived in

She was a member of the Oena-
ville Church of Christ.
Mrs. Davis is survived by

Watershed Project
Gilbert Kretzschmar has
been named chairman of a com-
mittee to investigate the pos-
sibility of a watershed project
in this immediate comunity on
tho' Donahue and Indian creeks.
Action was staited on this pro-
ject at the Chamber of Com-
merce meeting Tuesday night.
Many farmers in this area
had expressed the hope that
such a project could be realiz-
ed here as has been done in
the San Gabriel and Brushy
Creek areas. The project is one.

Annual Bov Scout
Finance Drive
To Start Oct. 9
Some 47 communities in Cen-
tral Texas will launch the an-
nual Boy Scout budget cam-
paign October 9th amontr them
being Bartlett.
s Purpose of this finance drive
is to extend scouting to more of
the 31892 boys eligible to join
the program in the 5-county
Uapitol Area Council.
Heading this occasion for
Bartlett will be Di George Fow-
ler finance drive chairman. He
i ...mi j i i i i
organization.
Hundreds of these volunteer
workers will contact more than
10000 people in the Capitol
Council. Many drive workers
will be themselves scout unit
headers and committeemen in
Cub Packs Scout Troops and
Explorer Posts.
In the 15-county council there
are currently 3816 cubs in 131
Packs 3403 Scouts in 192
Troops and 739 Explorers in 54
Posts. The goal of the budget
drive solicitors in Central Tex-

opportunity for the more than
30000 eligible youths.
Providing impetus for the
many groups of campaign work-

gion grounds in Temple.

ganization are urged to attend
the kick-off gathering. Frank
