GRANT TO JOHN M. BARRON FOR 1/4 LEAGUE OF LAND
IN PRESENT MILAM COUNTY
[August 10, 1835]--EXCERPT FROM GENERAL LAND OFFICE BASE MAP
OF MILAM COUNTY, NOVEMBER 28, 1975.Surveyed by Moses Cummins, beginning at the northeast
corner of League No. 9 on the bank of the San Andres
[Little River]. Thence southwest 5,529 varas, with the line
of League No. 9, to a stake, for the southwest corner of
League No. 1. Thence southeast 1,250 varas to a stake which
formed the southeast corner of League No. 1. Thence
northeast 5,810 varas to a stake on the bank of the San
Andres, which formed the northeast corner of League No.
1. Thence up the river, following the meanders of same, to
the place of beginning. Villa of Viesca, August 10, 1835.
Signed by Guillermo H. Steele, Land Commissioner. Assisting
witnesses: Elijah S. C. Robertson and Felipe Weppler.
[John M. Barron, born July 21, 1821, died in 1847,
was a son of Thomas Hudson Barron. See "Grant to Thomas H.
