Description: Photograph of the Arlington Police/Fire Station at 401 W. Main Street taken in 1953. It shows four police cars and two fire vehicles parked in front of the building with an officer or a firemen beside each vehicle and two people standing in the front entrance. This photograph was taken from the Arlington Police Department Commemorative Book, 1994. This building also housed the jail and a courtroom. Description: Photograph of a view of the front of the City of Arlington Police Training Center located at 6000 West Pioneer Parkway. The building opened in 1980. The black and white version of the picture was used in the APD Commemorative Book, 1994. The APD operates its own Police Academy out of the Training Center. The first class graduated in June 1990.

[APD ORBIS history in Arlington]
