Description: This program lists the closing exercises and performances during the closing exercises of Denton City High School on May 18, 1894. It is printed in blue ink on creme paper. A partially visible watermark says, "Monona Linen F-". We presume the "F" stands for Fabric. Monona Linen Fabric paper was sold and produced at that time.

Description: This card contains advertisements for early Denton commerce. The advertisements include banks, saloons, grocers, drug stores, hardware stores, galleries, hotels, restaurants, and feed stores. We believe the card was created sometime in the year of 1895 based on the advertisement for The Denton Hotel which said it was the successor to Pierce House. We found no other newspaper advertisements for Pierce House after February of 1895.

Owsley, Sr., Grandmother of Clark, Lou, Stella, Eunice, Henry, Charlotte & Alvin. Louisa Owsley came here from Missouri in 1872 from Missouri with her husband, Dr. Henry Owsley, an allopath. Description: Souvenir booklet from the North Texas Normal College in Denton includes information about the terms of the college, a photograph of the college building, a list of faculty, coursework, information about musical instruction, a photograph of the chapel, and other relevant information. The name of Mrs. William (Effie Wright) Williams living at 516 W. Oak Street, has been written on the back in ink. We presume that she was the donor of the booklet.

The Osmunda Club Programme

Description: The Osmunda Club tendered this program and dance card to Miss McNeely of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Misses Lena and Louise Comegys of Gainesville, Texas. The dance took place in the club rooms on January 31, 1896. The Osmunda Club's first organizational meeting was held on November 18th, 1895. Officers were elected and a name was chosen at the next club meeting. They held many fancy dress balls throughout the year.

Description: Children of the Baker and Lugenbyhl families picking cotton in the Hawkeye School district, north of Krum. They are identified as: Dee Baker, Key Baker, Bert Lugenbyhl, Philo Lugenbyhl, Joe Baker, Oliver Lugenbyhl, Lawrence Baker, Epp Baker, and Fred Lugenbyhl. At a later date the Lugenbyhl family changed the spelling of their name to Luginbyhl.
