Southeast winds fanned the fire up the street to consume a domino parlor, the former Morris Feed Store, tin-covered sheds (once a lumberyard), and damaged J. B. Woodrum's tire shop, the Ted Price Garage, and the Martin Shoe Shop on the east side of the flames. The fire also damaged some apartments on Oak Street, just behind the businesses.
