Alice is seated at it as she lays her hands on the keys and looks slightly to the right at the camera. She wears a light-colored jacket with dark trim accents and glasses. Her husband, Pastor John, stands behind her on the right wearing a two-piece suit. Finally, Gordon, next to Alice on the left, has his hands behind his back and wears a collar shirt and dark, belted pants. The back of the card bears a second image. This time, of Gordon Pedersen resting his hands on a horizontal sign with the bold heading that reads, "DANEVANG." He wears a hat and is standing outdoors in a grassy area. The caption beneath this image reads: "Our best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. Alice, Gordon & John Pedersen."

Photograph of the remains of a church after a weather disaster. A fallen tree with broken branches is on the rightmost side of the photograph. Behind it, the shingled roof of part of the church is inclined on fragments of wall material and construction posts. The entrance is the only part of the church that is still standing. It is flanked by other demolished parts of roofing, walls, and beams on the right side of the photograph.
[Dr. John J. Pendergrass Obituary]
Clipping from Dr. John J. Pendergrass' obituary, who passed on January 17, 1948. The text gives a biographical account of the doctor's education, family background, and retirement to Wharton county. It continues on the second page with anecdotes of his charity work. It ends with a small list of his surviving family, including his wife, two children, a sister, a brother, and five grandchildren.

Two photographs of the same image of the Duus family, which were used as a holiday greeting card and have been placed together with the aid of a small piece of adhesive on the back of the right photograph. The portrait of the family positions Pastor Vagn Duus on the leftmost side, holding a young a boy. The pastor's wife, identified as Gerda Duus, is in the middle, holding a baby in front of her and Sybil Duus on the right. The two boys have not been properly identified, although names have been provided in accompanying information (Verner and Erling). Text beneath the portrait says, "Season's Greetings from Our House to Your House" and has a simple line drawing of a landscape beneath it.

She is seated on the arm rest of a wooden chair, which is occupied by Pastor Vagn Duus. The words "Merry Christmas" have been printed on the top margin of the photograph. There is hand-written text on the back, but with the exception of the heading, which reads, "To Danish Ladies Aid member", the rest appears to be written in Danish or a similar Germanic language.

From left to right, they have been identified as: unknown, Mary Dorotik (possibly Dornak), Elaine Hansen, LaVanne Ladewig, and Lillie Jensen. Hand-written text on the back of the photograph lists their names. Additionally, a small newspaper article was cut and taped to the back. It reads: "Danevang Girl Queen EL CAMPO, July 22 - (Sp) - Elaine Hansen, 16, of Danevang, was chosen Farm Queen of Wharton County here Friday. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Hansen and will represent the Wharton County Farm Bureau in the district contest at Wharton in September. Three more windows are seen on the same face of the building, and a fourth, of similar dimensions, can be seen on the left adjacent wall. Some of the women present are dressed in nursing uniforms, while others are more casually dressed in light-colored gowns. There are also a few children on the front row. Hand-written text on the back of the postcard indicates setting as community hall and donor Lillian Hansen. It has not been addressed to anybody.

Pastor Duus is in the very front of the church on top of a series of steps behind a large portrait of King Christian and surrounded by ornate floral arrangements and candles. Above him, there is a stained glass window of a religious theme. The church architecture looks to be quite ornate, with two main alcoves to the right and left of the photograph built with different niches and column constructions. There are seven flags on the ground floor, five of which are supported by men in suits and military-style uniforms. Several attendees are seated in the foreground, many of whom are looking down at opened books. Hand-written text on the back of the photograph lists some metadata information as well as a short description of the event.

Left standing is the main entry to the church. This structure is surrounded by different construction materials - roofing, large wooden poles, walls and siding - piled up in large heaps. A few small trees are scattered around the church. To the left of this destruction, in the foreground of the image, is a tombstone with text on the front that reads "Gudsfred", but the smaller text on it cannot be read with certainty.

[Written Account of the Origins of the Danevang Farmers Cooperative Society]
Four page account of the beginning of the Danevange Farmers Cooperative Society written by W. E. Paulson, a marketing specialist in the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station at Texas A. & M. University. Early hardships in Danevange frame the communal spirit of the early Texas Danes, who begin cooperative enterprises after the devastating "Galveston storm" in 1900. Mr. Paulson ends with some of the financial benefits of the Coop society on Danevange.
