Unidentified group of two men and fourteen women pose for a picture on the steps of Howard Payne College. A small banner held by two of the women reads "Fidelis 1935-36." The Fidelis Sunday School Class was held at the First Baptist Church of Howard Payne College (now University). Only students attending the university were allowed to enroll in the specialized training in "real workings" of a modern day church.

Sam Laney Tire Company and Service Station
The Sam Laney's Tire Company and Service Station located at 502 N. Locust. The station originally opened in 1931 as the Laney & Craven Road Service Station and offered "washing, polishing and greasing," as well as being a Texaco Service Station. The name changed to Sam Laney sometime between 1932 and 1933. They began offering Firestone products in 1933. It later became the John Rochelle Station around 1942 and 1944.
