The men are wearing black shirts, and the women are wearing dark dresses with light-colored blouses. This photo was taken by a photographer and appears on p.174 of the 1941 yearbook for NTSU called The Yucca. Many of these same people appear in photos in our collection: B-281, C-157, C-183.
