Chair.
Patent for a new and improved knockdown chair. This design of a knockdown chair (a chair that isn't fully assembled until at its destination so that it may be collapsible, saving space until then) marks improvements over previous models. This design calls for side-rails that extend through the mortises and countersunk apertures so that the ends of the side-rails can expand in the countersinks.
Receipt Book Holder.
Patent for a new and improved holder for receipt books. This "is especially designed for the use of weighers" (line 8). The design calls for being "attached to the scales . . . that is, in the most convenient and agreeable position for the weigher. The book is always at hand, can be fully controlled by the weigher, and saves him [or her] very much trouble" (lines 42-48).
Games.
Patent for a new and improved bowling game. This design calls for blocks or pins of different values, and rather than try to knock down these pins, the object of the game is to move them from their designated starting positions. Further, a pit or gutter behind the pins receives the ball after it is thrown, and it redirects it back down toward the players by way of a perpendicular gutter to which it is connected.
Lamp Wick.
Patent for a new and improved wick for oil lamps. This design "consists in forming the lamp-wick of one or more layers of mineral wool inclosed in a textile material, the whole being sewed together by a series of parallel longitudinal stitches" (lines 18-22). Employing textile material represents an improvement in capillarity over previous wicks made with refractory cement.
Sulky Plow and Cotton Scraper.
Patent for a new and improved sulky plow and cotton scraper. This design "relates to an improvement in sulky-plows, its object being to render the plow right or left hand for operation, to adjust the angle of presentation of the plow with relation to the line of draft, and to adapt the plow as a cotton-scraper; and it consists of the combination and arrangement of parts" (lines 14-20).

[also] [t]he combination, with the structure provided, with transverse ventilating-tubes projecting on the outside of the structure, of the . . . protecting caps" (lines 88-97).
Oil Can.
Patent for a new and improved oil can. This design "consists in the combination, with an oil-can, of a wire passing loosely through the nozzle and into a tube secured on the bottom of the can within the said can. The outer end of the wire is curved, and part of the wire is finely grooved or roughened" (lines 13-18).
Oil Press Mat.
Patent for a new and improved oil press mat. This design consists in "having its body portion composed of card-board cut to the size of the press-box, the adjacent faces being covered with sheet metal, which is pressed or stamped into the paper body to give the required cavity, which is bounded by raised margins and transverse ribs struck up from the metal, and supported by paper strips interposed between the layers of card-board, the two leaves of the mat having a leather backing and being hinged together" (lines 15-25).
Oil Can.
Patent for a new and improved oil can. This design is of an oil-can "in which the nozzle remains closed, except when the bottom of the can is pressed, thereby preventing useless waste of oil. To prevent the oil-outlet from being stopped up; to enable the operator to see how much oil is given to each hole, and to facilitate the removal of dirt and grease from the oil-holes before oiling" (lines 8-15).
Feed Water Regulator.
Patent for a new and improved feed-water regulator. This design "consists in the combination, with the heater, of a supply-pipe having a valve-chamber, a valve opening and closing said pipe, and having a stem which is packed through the wall of the heater, a bell-crank lever fulcrumed upon a stud projecting from the inner wall of the heater, and actuated by a float connected with one arm, the other arm being connected to the valve-stem, whereby the supply-pipe is opened and closed by the fall and rise of the water-level in the heater" (lines 16-27).
Fire Kindler.
Patent for a new and improved fire-kindler. This design is for "[a] fire-kindling torch consisting of two perforated sections, each having an exterior longitudinal ridge, and angular side flanges, and provided at one end with lugs which bear flatly against each other, a pivot-pin passing transversely through the lugs to permanently connect the sections and form a pintle on which they can turn, and a handle connecting the other ends of the sections together, said sections having an interposed filling of mineral wool" (lines 1-11).
Ratchet Wrench.
Patent for a new and improved ratchet wrench. This design "relates to improvements in ratchet-wrenches wherein a handle carrying a rotating head having jaws to grasp a nut is provided with pivoted pawls, so that by oscillating the handle the pawls serve to rotate the head and screw or unscrew the nut, bolt, or other device" (lines 8-14).
Oil Press Mat.
Patent for a new and improved oil press mat. This design "consists in a mat for oil-presses having its leaves composed of paper-pulp molded by dies or molds into the requisite shape to present a hard and inelastic body to the meal to be pressed, said leaves of molded paper-pulp being provided with a leather backing" (lines 18-24).

Oil Press Mat.
Patent for a new and improved oil press mat. This design "has for its objects to provide an improved oil-press mat which can be pressed and shaped into a compact body of the required configuration, and such shape be retained when subjected to pressure to compress heated envelops containing the meal from which the oil is to be extracted, and to provide a mat the face of which is elastic and tough, and liable to become heated, like like metal face-plates, while the main body of the mat is prevented from being softened and peeling or becoming detached from the facing" (lines 8-19).
