United States Pavilion and Migration Fountain

Description: Photograph of a portion of the U.S. pavilion at HemisFair '68. Outside of the pavilion is the Migration Fountain, with a 100 foot wide cascade of water. The fountain decoration includes sculptures of stylized birds attached to metal rods. Created by Bill Bristow, artist and Trinity University Art Professor.

Description: Minutes taken at a meeting held Feb. 15th, 1962, at the Granada Hotel of civic leaders to discuss the idea of hosting a "Fair of the America's" in San Antonio, Texas. Those present expressed enthusiasm for the idea. At this meeting is was agreed that an executive committee be formed to investigate the feasibility of staging such a fair.

Description: Text is The General Electric Company's press release describing the Theaterama experience at the 1968 World’s Fair known as HemisFair ’68, held from April to October 1968 in San Antonio entitled "The Wonderful World of Progress." Cover letter on HemisFair '68 meeting

Description: Letter to accompany the transcript of a meeting held August 24, 1965 about HemisFair '68. The letter, from Jim Glass, is addressed to one of the fellow meeting attendees, Mr. Allison Peery. Mr. Peery was one of the site planning architects for HemisFair. The letter is written on "Culberson, Slaughter, Glass & DuBose, inc." letterhead.

Report to Hemisfair Re-Use Committee
