Description: A photograph of an Altec employee working on utility lines after the Ringgold fire. The face and arms of the worker are seen, and the worker wears gloves, safety glasses, and a helmet. Branches without leaves partially obscure the image. On January 1, 2006, the Texas town of Ringgold was devastated in a fire that forced thousands of people to evacuate several towns in North Texas. Around 32 houses were destroyed in Ringgold, a ranching town of about 250 people.

Description: Photograph of three unidentified children inside a yellow cage. It appears to be an attraction of sorts, perhaps an interactive space at the Children's Museum in San Antonio, Texas, where the picture was taken. A bilingual sign has been tied to one of the bars of the cage. It reads, "Limit: 3 children or 2 children and 1 adult." The other half reads the same but in Spanish.

[Correspondence Regarding Francisco Martinez]

Description: Letter written from the court in Nuevo Laredo to the mayor of Laredo, Texas notifying him that Francisco Martinez has been stabbed to death and asking that his relatives be informed. A reply from the Laredo city council to the mayor of Nuevo Laredo asks them to turn over Martinez's body to his relatives for burial.
