[Ticket Book for Texas Normal College and Training Institute, 1890]
Photographs of a Ticket Book for courses at Texas Normal College and Training Institute held by UNT Special Collections. The first image is of the front. It has a top section with information about when the tickets were used and the three tickets out of five at the bottom for drills, lectures, and study courses. The second image is of the back. The larger portion includes a promise signed by Lewis L. Fry, namesake of Fry Street in Denton, TX. There are also signatures on the backs of each ticket for course opportunities.

Miser purse of gray velvet with iridescent glass and pearl beads as trim; fringe of matching beading. Both panels taper at the ends into a triangular point. Two rings covered with matching velvet. Measurements: 44 cm from top of bag to bottom of beaded fringe when bag is folded over; 14 cm across the bag right before the taper. 79 cm unfolded, total length excluding beaded fringe.

Combinations(?) of black silk taffeta with double net flounce at bottom. Camisole top attached at natural waist, small cap sleeves. Opens down the front with covered buttons, some non-functional and covering hook-and-eyes. Size 16
Shoes
Pair of shoes. Black leather and tan suede uppers, leather at toe box and extending back, suede along heel and quarter. Cut-outs at vamp where suede and leather join. 2 1/4" high Louis XV style heel covered in tan suede. Marked inside left shoe: "240 / 8623 / 2675" Remains of gilt stamped label inside right shoe: "BENCH"
Shoes
Pair of shoes of brown leather. In the "Oxford" style, somewhat pointed toes, with decorative stitching across vamp and sides of upper near heel. Shoes lace up at center front, with 4 holes per side. Brown laces. Modified Louis heel, rounded at sides and back.
Shoes
Pair of shoes of black leather. Designed with pointed toes, the black leather uppers of the shoes are cut back at sides of vamp to create a "tongue" which is of pointed outline. Applied to vamp is an openwork stamped ornamental metal buckle simulating cut steel, with black patina. Modified Louis heel.
Silk slippers
Pair of party slippers of pale pink silk satin. Shoes have rounded toes, and wide self strap across instep, which secures with domed coral-colored button on outside edge. Strap, vamp, and upper edges of shoe are edged in slightly darker pink silk ribbon. 1 3/4" high modified Louis or cuban heel. Marked inside shoe: "3-C" (size?) Twelve family members are gathered for a photograph in front of a brick building with a porch. On the left, two men sit on a cane loveseat, while two women and one man stand behind them. On the right, an older man and woman sit on another loveseat. A younger man sits next to them in a cane chair and four younger individuals stand posed behind them. All are dressed in formal clothes - the women in long dark dresses or suits, the men in three piece suits.
Tommy and Dobbin
Set of 11 wooden blocks, hand-painted, which make up the bodies of Tommy the soldier and his horse Dobbin. Contained in wooden box with sliding lid, lid with colored illustration of the blocks and title; underside of lid with colored illustration showing 5 different ways the blocks can be arranged to make Tommy & Dobbin in different poses. Affixed to inside bottom of case is a second colored illustration showing 6 more poses.

Bed jacket of black openwork. Hip length-jacket is formed of vertical panels of black braid open work net overlaid/appliquéd with black braid in scrolls and arabesques, the whole is lined/backed with black silk. The panels are constructed to create princess seamed segments for shape/fit. Elbow-length sleeves, V-neckline at front with two hook & eye closures on center front. Neckline and upper part of opening trimmed with off-white eyelet lace ruffle. Two black braided circular button-like applied elements at center front, one at either side of opening.

Koran
3D scan models of a miniature Koran case. The case is octagonal and silver with loops on side and decorated with Arabic text. Gold maroon and ivory striped silk ensemble. Three bodices and skirt. A, B, C: Bodices; D: Skirt. Original daytime (high necked long sleeved) top and evening off shoulder décolletage top of 1860's style with lower neckline, lace collar and chiffon sleeves. Mourning dress
Mourning ensemble of black crepe chiffon: A) Bodice with standing band collar; long tapered sleeves with ruching, ruched pinch pleats, horizontal satin stripes and covered buttons at wrists; lace panel at CF with covered buttons @ each side; attached pleated belt; vertical stripes of appliqued satin at front and back of bodice forming a V-shape at CF and CB waist. Hook&eye closures up front of bodice and at the back of the neck band. B) Skirt with a full, A-line silhouette; pleated from waist; underskirt of black silk taffeta with layers of ruffles at hem.; sweep train; hook & eye closure at back.

Bow tie of ecru silk in the straight or trestle shape. Square patterned weave; adjustable length. Fabric Label: "100% Silk RN 18236"
Picture Hat
Picture hat of light pink silk taffeta and feathers. The domed crown is totally covered by sprays of off-white ostrich feathers and pale pink veiling. At one side is a metal buckle with rhinestones. The wide brim is wired at outer edge and covered with the same silk. The whole is swathed in veiling which also hangs down to secure below face of wearer. Crown of hat is lined in off-white silk, the brim is lined with the same pink silk.
Linen sunbonnet
Sunbonnet of brown linen with pasteboard staves, crenelated buttoning crown and long tail; crown and tail are separate pieces, sewn together at neck seam; tail fastens to side of brim through 3 off-white buttons on each side; shape of tail is semi-circular; chin ties are narrow hemmed by hand; fabric is a plain weave with both white and brown threads. Measurements: 56 cm. from lowest point of tail to top of crown when laid flat; Brim is 20 cm. deep from outer edge to inner edge.
Cummerbund
Cummerbund/sash of black satin with woven and knotted silk thread fringe. Measures 10 1/2" wide by six yards long.

Afternoon dress ensemble of navy jacquard with green and cream floral print. Consists of: A) Bodice with lace embelishments as if yoke but beneath faux vest of chartreuse green; geometric pleating in front; black velvet and chartreuse accent at collar; hook and eye closures at center front; remnants of ruffled trim on cuffs. B) Skirt; pleating in center; navy ruffle trim
Bodice
Dress top/bodice of black silk brocade in "tree branch" geometric design with lavender silk vestee front over-laid with black point d'esprit in pattern of squares. Modified leg of mutton sleeve with black passementerie trim. Stand-up collar of matching lavender silk covered in black lace. Collar and vestee close on left with hook & eyes. Black fabric lining of bodice is boned and closes at center front with hook & eyes in which hooks and eyes alternate sides. 29" waist.
Lace pin
Brooch or lace pin of black jet or onyx. Rectangular shape with three tiny pearls set in gold stars. Carved design at one end. Cooper/brass pin closure. Measures 2 1/4" x 1/2"
Hair comb
Hair comb of ivory with ornamental open work top. No markings.
White cotton petticoat
Petticoat of white cotton. Full length, the narrow waistband secures with single hook-and-eye. Petticoat is gathered into waistband in fine pleats. Lower edge scalloped. Wide band at hem decorated with eyelet lace, white on white embroidery, and large cut-outs backed by fine white mesh.
Afternoon dress
Daytime ensemble of white cotton batiste with black dots. A) Bodice with lace yoke. Center front has three vertical rows of lace separated by two inserts of matching fabric with pin tucks. Small bishop sleeves, 3/4 length. Center back closure of seven hook & eyes. Unlined. B) Skirt. Full length with bustle-back, slightly trained back. Formed with two tiers of inserted lace and shirring; bottom tier has pin tucks and extra row of matching inserted lace along hem. Narrow waistband with hook & eye closure; shirring at sides and around back. Unlined.
Grey feather hat
Small grey hat with flat brim turned upward at front. Back adorned with flowers and yellow and grey silk ribbon with feathers. Rim is trimmed with small silver studs. Crown has sequined applique. Back has a bow and flowers.
Bone folding fan
Folding fan with 17 bone sticks; white lace with round and clover leaf shaped silver sequins. Sticks carved with tiny flower and dot designs on 8 sticks and leaf and curly designs on 9 sticks. Back of fan is not decorated.
Baby moccasin booties
Baby booties/moccasins of light brown kidskin (goat leather) with carteledge pleated toe. 3-hole lacing for silk cord closing. Sateen lined.
Velvet capelet
Capelet of burgundy velvet with brown mottled fur trim at collar, center front opening, hem, and bands down back. Elbow length, with appliques of copper beading on upper back. Center front opening. Blue-violet silk lining.
Crochet reticule
Larger cream/off-white crocheted drawstring reticule with 9 balls of self-trim, satin lined.
Slippers
Pair of lady's slippers of brown kid leather with jet beading. Designed with pointed toes, the uppers are of brown kid leather, heavily decorated with radiating patterns of jet beads, over toe, around sides and throughout openwork that decorates throat and sides of shoes. Originally had sewn-in ties across the instep. Lined in black leather. Soles of black leather. High heels are of modified French style, sometimes called "spool" style, with rounded sides and back, flaring to base, and with curved front. There are no marks or labels in the shoes. The brown ribbons in photographs are not original, are to hold the shoe closed in place of original ribbons, now missing. Measurements: Length: 25 cm. Width: 7 cm. Height: 11 cm. Heel: 4.5 cm. (1 3/4") high on axis with cap.
Leather boots
Ladies lace-up boots of black leather with whole vamp and pointed toe. Round, black cord laces.
Dress shoes
Ladies dress shoes of gray suede with grosgrain ribbon ties and sharp pointed toes. Narrow cream piping around openings. Louis heel.

Ladies lace-up brogue design boots of fawn leather with suede inset upper. Stamped: "John Wanamaker / Philadelphia New York / Paris London"

Letter from Dinkie McGee to Mary and Charles B. Moore in which she gives news of her family's health and talks about wanting to visits from family that live far away. Aurthur is going to school in town and want to be a preacher. William Dodd wrote about crops, a storm that caused damage and killed three people. Dinkie added a note to day that Jimmie Day was dead.
