Description: Correspondence between Tex Bradford and Joseph Newton Pew Jr. discussing oil companies & Governor Dewey's political loss. In the first letter Mr. Pew Jr. speaks of Mr. Bradford's interest in Lowell Thomas, the possible treaty effects on oil companies, and the war in Greece. In the second letter, Mr. Tex Bradford cautions that Governor Dewey's statement of favoring a military alliance with only one European power cost him votes and his defeat.

Description: Handwritten letter from William Katsur to Lt. Comdr. E. E. Roberts. William talks about his return to the United states after the Battle of Samar and the sinking of the U.S.S. Samuel B. Roberts. He is staying at the United States Naval Hospital Annex in Swarthmore, PA while he recovers from his injuries during the battle which include a paralyzed arm. He mentions a doctor in New guinea saved his arm from amputation and that he will be in the hospital for nearly two years, recovering.
